Treasures and Warm Weather

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We stayed busy with various activities...On Friday after dropping Kellon off at preschool, Taran and I headed over to Bennet, a neighboring town. They had their community garage sales! I scored 3 wood bowls for $9 and a basket for 50 cents. I will paint and prim them up for my home. I will share when I'm done with them...:)

My mom gave Kellon an antique children's chair...so I've been on the lookout for a desk. I found one at a garage sale. I reluctantly left without it and kept thinking about it so I came back on Saturday and it was surprisingly still there. I got it for $20. A little more than I wanted to pay for a desk but it is a good solid desk with drawers and I don't have to do anything with it if I don't want to. Kellon was so excited to get it! Now he can do his "work". :)

I also got Kellon a couple 25 cent books. The Boxcar Children was one of them. We take turns reading pages and he just enjoys reading it. Amazon.com says this is reading level for ages 9-12. That seems a little high to me...He has really gotten into the story, so I think we will be getting more of the series at the library.

I thought I would share a cute picture of the daddy playground. :) It's so much fun when daddy's home from work!
We've had some beautiful weather the last couple days! Here's our crab apple tree blooming with bright pink flowers. It's so pretty. Kellon has been enjoying all the plants and trees growing/blooming this Spring! It's a new thing for Dave and I also...last year we had an early freeze and we didn't see all the pretty colors that was in our own back yard.
It was fun to put shorts on Taran today. He had to stand up by the door to check out the front yard. :)

In the last couple weeks we noticed Kellon swinging by himself. As he plays outside this Spring, we see a big change from last year, as he is getting more coordinated and playing like a "big boy". Tonight was no exception. He was getting pretty high on his swing!

I hope the weather is beautiful where you are!

Hi Kindra

You certainly have picked up some excellent buys for bargain prices. I can't wait to see what you do with the bowls.

I can't count the number of times I 've walked away from a potential purchase, only to arrive home and then realise I really wanted it. Sometimes I go back to the store and more often than not it's gone. I was happy to see that you didn't miss out on the desk for Kellon. What a perfect match for the chair and a great "work" space for him. He looks like such a big boy sitting there doing his "work".

Daddy playgrounds, they are the best aren't they?

That crab apple tree is gorgeous. What a delight to see.

It's amazing how you notice how much your children have grown up from season to season. Troy and I were just commenting about how much Savanna has changed from last Mother's day to this one. She was a baby last May, now she's a little girl.

Your weather is looking glorious. It's fantastic to see Taran and Kellon enjoying it so much.

Love and hugs my friend
Elise.

Hi Kindra, thanks for stopping by, you got some really nice things at the yard sale, I love that desk and can't wait to see what you do with the bowls. Kellon's reading is great! He's a smart little boy. Your trees look beautiful, I had a crabapple tree it bloomed white flowers but the ants got in it and destroyed it. Can't really say that I mind though, I hated the apples in the front yard, the tree was here when we move here. My sister just left I hemmed a pair of pants for her son, he's in the seventh grade and in the band, they're have a band concert at school tomorrow evening so they had to dress up. I won't talk too too much anyway I think I'm on my way to bed. Oh, don't let me forget,I'm exercising alone, my husband isn't trying to lose any weight and if I wait on him to join me I won't either, but I don't mind because he wants to do them in the evening and I prefer the mornings. Have a goodnight Kindra and you guys take care. Deb

What amazing finds, Kindra! Can't wait to see your painted bowls!

The Daddy Playground picture is just the best! The kids love to hang all over Todd that way too. I'm always amazed at how differently they all play with him. It's definitely more rough and tumble -- and they love it!

Taran looks adorable in shorts! I hope he gets to wear lots of them soon!

And your blossoming tree is gorgeous! Many of our tress have started budding as well -- which is a wonderful sight after a long Winter.

I hope you're feeling better, my friend... Have a great day!

Wow, those are great garage sale finds!

I absolutely love the 'daddy playground' picture. That's so cute! I think moments like that are some of the best that childhood has to offer.

The girls and I went to the boxcar children at the community playhouse. I was trying to think if we took Kellon with us, it seems like we did??

I need to look for bowls like that...I am looking forward to seeing what you do with them. We have a crab apple tree in our front yard that is so beautiful, too. I commented on it today to one of the girls--we are so blessed to live in such a beautiful world. I remember reading the Boxcar Children and series and putting myself into their family---I knew I could save them!! Fun post!!

you always find the best stuff from garage sales!! Today my mom & I are going to a couple of thrift stores & the flea market. It's been awhile & you've inspired me:) The weather is great here as well I love it!! It's is'nt it great to see the kids grow into their own little person?? My youngest is becoming independent as well... it makes me a little sad since he is my last:( I am hoping to get him into pre-k next year at my daughters school. so far they are saying I am on the bottom of the list, because my usband makes to much money.yeah right look at our bills!! i cannot afford other pre-schools. oh well. let me stop i could talk for hours!! I've missed chatting w/ya:)

I love g'sales too! They're soooo fun! As well as practical & a money saving tool.

Wish you lived closer, then we could swap info on 'good' areas to g'sale at!

Have a great rest-of-your-week! :)
